Education:

  • JD, Dalhousie University (2026)

  • MN (Clinical), University of Toronto (2022)

  • BScN, Dalhousie University (2020)

Background:

Madeline is a third-year law student at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Madeline received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Dalhousie University and a Master of Nursing degree at the University of Toronto. While at the University of Toronto, she completed her student residency in Paediatric Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children.

Madeline’s work as a Registered Nurse has instilled in her a strong commitment to community service. From 2021-2023 Madeline volunteered with a Registered Charity to help address health inequities in her community through education and advocacy. In 2022, Madeline co-authored a Scoping Review which was published in the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing.

Curious about the international legal landscape, in 2024 Madeline participated in the Queen’s University International Law Program in Berlin, Germany where she received a certificate in International Business Law. While in Berlin, she had the opportunity to learn about the law that governs international business transactions and dispute resolution, an experience that she can bring forward to support the Atlantic Canadian technology startup community.

At initio she is eager to use her experience working as a Registered Nurse to efficiently and effectively address client needs with a focus on health, technology, and privacy.

Outside of law school, Madeline enjoys spending time by the ocean and travelling with friends and family.
