Background:

Delaney is passionate about access to justice, and continuously works to ensure that the law and tech space is accessible for individuals, start-ups, and non-profits alike. In fulfilling this commitment, Delaney has recently taken over the role of the Student Coordinator of the Pro Bono Dalhousie & McCarthy Tétrault Privacy Compliance Clinic.

Prior to law school, Delaney completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Queen’s University, where Delaney also earned her Certificate of Law. Since then, Delaney has worked at several of Ottawa’s leading IP firms, garnering a strong understanding of how to use intangible assets to maintain a strong brand identity. Delaney looks forward to clerking at the Federal Court of Canada after law school, where she will be on the front line of judicial decision making. 

During her term at the initio clinic, Delaney is keen to develop her skills in the clinic’s key practice areas, including IP services, technology, transactions, and privacy.

Outside of work, you will find Delaney at a local coffee shop, pub, or at home playing with her three cats!
