Background:
At initio, Cindy aspires to build a legal career at the intersection of law and the global automotive industry. She seeks to help companies navigate complex regulatory frameworks and manage industry relationships and disputes in the fast-paced sector of cars, motorcycles, and high-performance technology.
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from McMaster university and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Waterloo. With a background in both science and arts, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to navigating legal issues and well-rounded perspective to connecting with clients.
In 2025, Cindy joined initio as a Summer Research Assistant where she gained valuable insight into the clinic’s services before officially joining initio as a Senior Law Student in 2026. During her time in law school, Cindy was also part of Pro Bono Dalhousie’s Wills Project and McCarthy Tétrault Non-Profit Privacy Compliance Clinic.
As vehicle technologies continue to evolve, Cindy’s legal focuses are on intellectual property, privacy, corporate and commercial law, and product liability. She is looking to become a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Canada (CIPP/C) and a patent and/or trademark agent.
In her free time, Cindy can be found in a video game, on the badminton court, or watching Formula 1 with her cat.
